Misery
The most people think including writers that it is impossible and difficult to describe horrible female villain in the story. King totally disproves this belief and Annie Wilkes in the novel Misery is a proof. This character is really disturbing and chilling.
Paul Sheldon is the author of successful bodice-ripper which is based on Misery Chastain. He has a car incident in the winter storm and loses consciousness. When he comes to his senses, he realizes that he is injured. And his fan Annie Wilkes takes care about him.
A reader may see that Kong again isolates and almost ruins his character. Paul is left in the terror and then he understands that Annie wants to have him in her powers and control him until she will fully deep into her psychosis. Annie reads the latest script in the Misery series in which Misery is killed and Annie is getting irritate and uncontrolled.
Annie begins to demand from Paul that he resurrect Misery in order to save Paul´s life. And he starts to write. He has an old typewriter and he understands that it will be difficult to get out alive from this situation. Annie becomes more irritated and she begins to loom over Paul, physically abuse and torture him to the end of the story.
The novel Misery is one of the greatest works of Stephen King. King has made excellent and vivid characters and the story is easy to read. The author uses his main themes. These are isolation and desperation which work together. Misery is a thrilling and perfect addition to bibliography of King.
