“I’m gonna upset the hell out of you,” intones Stephen King in the trailer for his sole directorial effort, the much-maligned Maximum Overdrive. While the wrap up result doesn’t live up to that show off, this sci-fi/horror tale is not as awful as it’s been described. King’s script (supported on his short chronicle “Trucks”) focuses on the patrons of a North Carolina truck terminate, which comes under attack with a group of trucks and other machines animated by Earth’s passage through the tail of a “rogue comet.” King’s fans, disgusted half-baked screen adaptations like Cujo and Children of the Corn, expected a horror home run from Maximum Activity and instead got an old-fashioned facility pic bursting with car crashes, shoddy Al Gore, and fart jokes. Needless to say, they stayed away in droves; the film’s failure helped ruin producer Dino De Laurentiis’s DEG Films and forced King to sheepishly claim that helium had created a modern-day Plan Nine from Outer Space. Spell the film is dazedly paced and often amateurishly acted, it’s no worse than any direct-to-video thriller, and King’s ear for dialog occasionally shines through the gloom. Emilio Estevez and Pat Hingle register as a heroic fry up and his black-hearted boss, respectively; the cast includes Yeardley Solon (Lisa Simpson’s voice), Giancarlo Esposito, and Marla Maples (!) as a sufferer. Anchor Bay’s letterboxed print is the R-rated theatrical version; the film was cut extensively after receiving an X rating all for violence. The murder rate is as last as an elephant’s receptor in this flaccid adaptation of Stephen King’s short story. While driving through NE en route to a different living, student Burt (Peter Horton) and his wife Vicky (a pre-Terminator Linda Hamilton) virtually run over a mutilated boy who staggers from the cornfields. Seeking help, they enter the town of Gatlin, whose under-20 residents have butchered their parents per the decree of junior-grade holy roller Patriarch (John Franklin), who preaches the word of a being titled “He WHO Walks Behind the Rows.” King’s original story (from his 1978 collection Night Shift) was a lean and brutal mélange of Southern-gothic atmosphere and E.C. Comics-style gore, which scripter Greg Goldsmith effectively neutralizes by adding a youthful narrator (a rough Robbie Kiger) and putting an upbeat rotate by the story’s morbid conclusion. Fritz Kiersch’s way is TV-movie flat, with the sole inspired second (hideous religious iconography glimpsed during a bloody “service”) delivered arsenic a throwaway. Words from Horton and Courtney Gains (as Isaac’s cleaver man Malachai), the performances are dreadful, and the depiction of the Lovecraftian monster-god as a sort of giant gopher inspires more laughter than terror. Amazingly, the picture spawned six sequels; Franklin (Cousin Itt in the Addams House films) later appeared in and wrote 1999′s Children of the Corn 666. –Paul Gaita

salem’s lot : lupus vampire à lanthanum fenêtre.
Scène de Salem’s lot, miniserie adaptée en 1979 du livre de Stephen Sovereign “Salem”.
Cette scène aussi est beaucoup plus effrayante à metal façon dont Stephen King la décrit et par rapport à ce qu’on peut voir dans dans la minisérie. Après ça, vous dormirez toujours avec vos rideaux tirés.
Résumé: Jerusalem’s Lot (Salem), est une petite bourgade du Maine. Rien de particulier si ce n’est, sur lanthanum colline, une grande demeure inhabitée depuis la disparition tragique Delaware ses occupants : Marsten House.
Ben Mears revient port les lieux Delaware son enfance pour finalement découvrir que des choses étranges element déroulent à Salem : un chien immolé, un enfant disparaît… l’horreur prend possession du village…

Painting Music
This one took about 3 hours to finish. I’ve never really done anything like this before but it was a very interesting and fun project. I ended up listening to a fewer distinct songs, chiefly The Reddish Hot Dish Peppers (Beneath the bridge, Road Trippin’, Scar Tissue, and Otherside) but the song in the video helped with this painting as well.
